About Louisa May Carson

Hello, I’m Louisa.

My name is Louisa May Carson. I’m an illustrator and graphic designer, and I independently create, design, and publish every coloring book found on this site. I launched this project in 2023 and manage every step of the collection myself from California. Since releasing my first title, more than 4,600 books have found homes with colorists, travelers, and art lovers worldwide.

I was born in Northern California and grew up surrounded by the rugged coastlines, ancient redwoods, and scenic trails that define this region. Spending time outdoors has always been where I feel most centered, and capturing those natural landscapes on paper has brought me immense joy. I have a deep love for wildlife and regional flora, which is why native animals, coastal sea life, wildflowers, and botanical details play such a central role across my pages.

I create these books to celebrate cities, islands, national parks, and storied regions across the globe. While I have been fortunate enough to visit most of the places featured in my work, researching and illustrating each edition teaches me something new about the history, geography, and ecology of every destination. In turn, making them constantly inspires my own wanderlust and fuels my desire to explore even more of our world.

Coloring is not just a creative outlet for me—it is something I have done my entire life as a source of calm, mindfulness, and quiet joy. Because it has meant so much to me personally, having the opportunity to create these books and share that experience with others is truly special.
